How do you keep your spirits up in the face of constant waves of bad news and a frightening future?
I have no answers, but I know that while we fight the wrongs that threaten to overwhelm us, we have to take some time out to sing and dance.
The right proportion of struggle and singing varies from person to person. We all need to find our balance.

How can I dance and sing,
As the last elephant dies?
But how can I go on
If I can’t sing and dance no more.
How can I dance and sing,
While the ocean fills with plastic?,
Don’t be telling me
I can’t sing and dance no more.
Can’t sing and dance no more
Can’t sing and dance no more,
I can’t stand to hear
We can’t sing and dance no more.
How can I dance and sing,
With farms full of poison,
I don’t want to hear that
I can’t sing and dance no more.
How can we dance and sing,
With our forests all in flame,
Are you telling me
We can’t sing and dance no more?
Can’t sing and dance no more
Can’t sing and dance no more,
I can’t stand to hear
We can’t sing and dance no more.
How can I dance and sing,
While the ocean rises,
I can’t stand to hear that
We can’t sing and dance no more.
How can I dance and sing,
With friends sick and dying?
But I just can’t go one if
I can’t sing and dance no more.
Can’t sing and dance no more
Can’t sing and dance no more,
I can’t stand to hear
We can’t sing and dance no more.
How can we dance and sing,
While bombs fall on babies,
And I’m afraid to hear that
We can’t sing and dance no more?
How can I dance and sing,
With a new daily nightmare?
But I just can’t go one if
I can’t sing and dance no more.
How can we dance and sing,
As the last elephant dies?
But we just can’t go one if
We can’t sing and dance no more.
