Nothing else but a little song expressing that I do appreciate my life, even with its notable imperfections.
I made use of the sparkling talents of the musicians of AirGigs: steel guitar is played by John Heinrich, a true Nashville cat. The lovely harmony, both parts, is sung by Devin Renee.
There is a LONG steel guitar break in the middle of the song, allowing Mr. Heinrich to strut his stuff. In the video there is lots of fun stuff to watch but in the audio version you just get to be dazzled by the steel guitar.
Gotta lotta little things going on
I’m like a Swiss Army knife
But even though it’s wacky
I kinda like my strange little life.
I’ve been lucky and avoided
The worst kinds of strife,
Maybe because it’s quiet
I appreciate my strange little life.
And how about you?
How’s it working out?
You get the big brassy life
The life you wanted…
Or just a strange little life like mine.
My friends are not so rich
And none of us is famous
But even inconspicuous
I still like my strange little life.
My town is not glamorous
Not Paris or London
But even in my sleepy town
I still like my strange little life.
And how about you?
How’s it working out?
You get the big brassy life
The life you wanted…
Or just a strange little life like mine.
My head is bald, clothes a mess
I live in dis array
But even in my jumble
I kinda like my strange little life.
Gotta lotta little things going on
I’m like a Swiss Army knife
But even though it’s wacky
I kinda like my strange little life
And how about you?
How’s it working out?
You get the big brassy life
The life you wanted…
Or just a strange little life like mine.
